WASHINGTON, D.C. – Average gas prices in Peoria have dropped 7.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.44 a gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 148 stations in Peoria.
Prices in Peoria are 27.3 cents per gallon lower than last month, and are 77 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
The national average price of diesel has dropped 3.4 cents in the last week, at $4.43 per gallon as of Monday.
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Peoria was $2.96 a gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was $3.99 a gallon. The lowest price in Illinois on Sunday was $2.75 a gallon, while the highest was $4.99 a gallon.
The national average price of gas has fallen 5.3 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.45 a gallon on Monday…down 36.3 cents per gallon from a month ago and 27.4 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy.
AAA Illinois says the average price of unleaded gas in the Peoria-Pekin metro area is $3.48 a gallon, down 6 cents from a week ago and down 74 cents from a year ago.
AAA reports Illinois’ average gas price on Monday was $3.56 a gallon, down 7 cents from last week and down 59 cents from a year ago.
AAA’s national average price for a gallon of unleaded gas was $3.49 on Monday.
