PEORIA, Ill. – Arson appears to be the cause of a fire near the corner of N. Missouri and Ravine Wednesday night in Peoria.
Crews were called to the scene around 5:50 p.m., finding flames coming from the basement windows of a vacant home.
Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Thomas Sander says firefighters began an interior attack and searched for anyone inside the home before they were forced to evacuate.
Ladder trucks were brought in to get the fire under control. An investigator said the fire had several points of origin.
An emergency demolition was ordered due to structural instability.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
