INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A big and award-winning season for the Morton High School Marching Band has ended with what the band calls its “highest ranking ever” at a national competition.
Band officials say the team placed second in Class 2A at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis. They also placed 18th overall.
The team started out competition performing on Thursday, then performed again Saturday in the semi-finals – one of 33 bands advancing to that spot, out of 93 that participated.
The 18th place overall is one place better than the team did last year at Grand Nationals, and the second place showing in Class 2A is as good as they did last year.
