PPD Officer injured, suspect arrested, during weapons incident

PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria Police officer suffered minor injuries as he attempted to arrest a suspect Sunday night.

Police say the officer is expected to be okay, after Billy Moore, 52, allegedly started resisting during a search.

Moore was accused of showing off a gun in a public parking lot on South Western.

While Moore was arrested on a number of charges, records indicate prosecutors Monday only filed a charge of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

More remains jailed.
