PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – Details are coming out about a crash late Tuesday night in Peoria Heights that involved a semi and a trapped driver.
It happened just before 11 p.m. on Prospect Road near the intersection with Lake Avenue.
Peoria Heights Fire officials say it’s believed a vehicle was driven at a high rate of speed into the side of an 18-wheeler, causing the driver to be trapped and have to be extricated.
The driver was taken to a Peoria hospital, but a condition was unknown.
No word from police on if any citations were issued.
