PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Fire Department says discarded charcoal embers caused a fire to the outside of a home Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported at around 1:00 P.M. to a house at Renwood Ave., between Forrest Hill and Gilbert.
Crews quickly put the fire out and checked for hot spots, with the fire contained to the exterior of the house.
The occupants of the home were able to stay inside.
A fire investigator determined the fire was accidental. There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $5000.
