PEORIA, Ill. – A Metamora man will be going to federal prison for 15 years after he tried to solicit a young girl for sex through an online ad the FBI set up.
Federal court records indicate Dana Curtin, 50, received the mandatory minimum sentence he asked for Wednesday, after a jury convicted him in June.
Curtin found an ad on a website called SkipTheGames.com which he used to try and set up the sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl.
He was arrested in Peoria Heights in May of 2022, cash and condoms in hand, when he went to meet the girl and an undercover agent.
