PEKIN, Ill. – A Pekin teenager is jailed on murder charges in connection with the death of a nine-week-old child.
Pekin Police say Hunter Waters, 19, is in the Tazewell County Jail on charges of First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery causing Great Bodily Harm.
Police say the child was taken to a Peoria hospital Sunday after what they called numerous serious injuries discovered at a home on Monroe Street in Pekin.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says young Addison Waters was pronounced brain dead Tuesday.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday following organ donation procedures being done.
Hunter Waters remains jailed in Tazewell County pending a detention hearing Friday, and an arraignment hearing December 21st.

Police say they went to a local hospital Sunday on reports of a child that had what they called numerous serious injuries.
The infant eventually died and Waters was arrested two days later.
Waters remains jailed pending court appearances.
