PEKIN, Ill. – A Pekin man has pleaded not guilty to charges relating to the death of his infant daughter last month.
Hunter Waters, 20, was arraigned in Tazewell County Court on Thursday on multiple counts of First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery to a Child.
He is accused in the death of 9-week-old Addison Waters.
At a detention hearing last week, a judge ruled that Hunter Waters was to remain in prison prior to the start of the trial, due to the nature of the crime.
At that same hearing, prosecutors told of injuries suffered to Addison Waters that included broken ribs, kidney damage, and a lacerated liver.
Addison Waters was taken to a Peoria hospital on November 26th, and pronounced dead a couple days later.
