PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man will spend nearly five years in prison for possessing a firearm as a felon.
Jamarcus Hollingsworth, 30, received a sentence of 57 months in prison on Friday, followed by three years of supervised release.
Hollingsworth was arrested in May of 2023 after reportedly trying to sell a pistol in Peoria. He was arrested at a hotel on War Memorial Drive.
Federal agents also searched Hollingsworth’s home and reportedly found a loaded AR-15 rifle with 28 rounds of live ammunition.
At the time of his arrest, Hollingsworth was on parole after a state conviction of aggravated robbery.
Hollingsworth pleaded guilty in September after being indicted in June. He could have received a sentence of up to 15 years.
