PEORIA, Ill. – Gas prices continue to fall in the Peoria area. Gasbuddy says the average price at the pump dropped 8.4 cents a gallon in the last week, averaging $2.95 a gallon on Monday.
Prices in Peoria are just over 27 cents lower than a month ago, and nearly 41.5 cents a gallon less than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy reports, the cheapest gas in Peoria was $2.71 a gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive gas was $3.29 a gallon. Illinois’ lowest price on Sunday was $2.44 a gallon, while the highest priced gas was $4.59 a gallon.
Gasbuddy says the national average price of gas has fallen 3.8 cents a gallon in the last week, averaging $3.03 on Monday, down 12.2 cents from a month ago and 22 cents cheaper than this time last year.
Meanwhile, AAA Illinois says the average price of gas in the Peoria-Pekin metro area on Monday was $2.95 and the state’s average price was $3.04.
AAA says the national average price for unleaded gas on Monday was $3.07.
