PEKIN, Ill. – Pekin City Council welcomed its newest member Monday night.
Chris Onken, a gym teacher and coach at Pekin High School, takes over the seat vacated by Becky Cloyd in November.
Onken was selected from a group of four top candidates for the job last week.
Mayor Mary Burress last week told 25 News that she was impressed with his overall attitude, and his experience proves he’s a team leader.
