PEORIA, Ill. – A break in snowfall Tuesday afternoon allowed crews to start plowing and treating residential streets in Peoria, but their focus returned to the main routes overnight, according to Peoria Public Works Deputy Director Sie Maroon.
Main routes remain drivable, but they may be slick, so drive with extreme caution and give yourself a little extra time to get where you need to be.
Later Wednesday morning, Peoria crews will resume plowing the residential areas. Those streets may still be snow-covered and icy, but passable.
Blowing and drifting snow wasn’t much of a factor overnight, and refreeze areas were minimized, Maroon says.
Street crews will continue to work around-the-clock until all streets are cleared.
