EUREKA, Ill. – A boil order is still in effect for portions of Eureka after a water main break on Friday.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Eric Lind says the break occurred outside of the water plant, and impacted water pressure throughout the city.
Crews worked throughout the day Saturday to restore water service in the areas of Adams Road and Moody Street. Illinois Route 117 was closed with detours posted for a time in order to get the work done.
Water service was restored in those areas by around 5:15 P.M.
As of Sunday morning, the city says the following areas are still under a boil order:
- Redbud Lane
- Pepper Tree Lane
- Adams Road
- Moody Street
- James Street from Henry to the East through the College Park Subdivision
- College Park Subdivision (Dickenson Drive, Lister Lane, University Circle, Logsdon Court, James Street)
- 1400 Block of County Road 800N
