WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’ll cost you a little bit more to send a letter in the mail.
FOX News reports that starting Sunday, the cost of a First-Class Mail forever stamp is increasing two cents, to 68 cents.
It’s the 5th increase of stamp prices in the past three years. In July, prices went up from 63 cents to 66 cents.
International letter prices are also going up, with an increase of five cents to $1.55.
The United States Postal Service says inflation is causing operating expenses to climb, along with a previously defective pricing model.
The USPS reported in November a net loss of $6.5 billion for fiscal year 2023, despite a goal to break even.
Despite the price increases, the USPS says its stamps are still “among the most affordable in the world.”
