PEORIA Ill. – Icy conditions Wednesday morning led to several accidents, one involving a school bus and a garbage truck, leaving several cars in the ditch on Cedar Hills Drive, at Bristol Hollow Road.
Peoria Sheriff Chris Watkins said the crash involved five vehicles. Five other vehicles were stuck on the ice.
One child was on the school bus, but there were no injuries reported.
Cedar Hills Drive will be shut down until the salt trucks get there. Watkins says the hill is completely covered in ice just east of Knoxville Avenue.
Several accidents were also reported in East Peoria on Route 150 due to icy conditions.
The morning commute was otherwise normal in Peoria Wednesday morning, with Peoria Public Schools students going back to class after two days of E-Learning from home.
