PEORIA, Ill. – The second of two people charged in an armed-robbery-turned-fatal will now also stay in jail through any potential trial.
A judge Monday ordered Jalyn Branscumb, 18, to remain in the Peoria County Jail.
Branscumb and Sontarrius Williams, 27, were arrested last week by police, charged with Armed Robbery after the West Lincoln Avenue incident.
Two people, police say, came to Peoria to check out a car for sale through Facebook Marketplace, but a fight broke out when the two were directed to an alleyway.
Macus Whitehead of Bloomington, 18, died, while another man who was legally allowed to carry a gun, won’t be charged.
Branscumb is scheduled for arraignment February 29th, while Williams will be arraigned February 15th.
