Peoria Civic Center Authority extends lease with Rivermen hockey team. Here’s what we know

PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Civic Center Authority is extending its license agreement with the Peoria Rivermen hockey team.

The Rivermen’s current lease agreement was set to expire after April 30, 2024, but included a one-year extension option. The hockey team is using that extension to play at the Peoria Civic Center through the 2024-25 hockey season, which the Peoria Civic Center Authority has agreed to.

Both the Rivermen and the Peoria Civic Center Authority say the extension will give them more time to plan for a long-term agreement. Discussions are ongoing.
