EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The East Peoria Fire Department made multiple promotions on Monday, on the heels of a new fire department building opening.
Andy Ogburn was promoted from lieutenant to assistant fire chief. Ogburn is a 24-year veteran of the department who has served as lieutenant since 2009.
Four firefighters were promoted to lieutenants; Drew Ranney, Drew Rubel, Jordan Noe, and John Raymer.
Fire Chief Bobby Zimmerman tells 25 News the promotions will help the city be in a better position to help more people quickly, especially with a new station opening soon.
He says the five promotions are the most in a single day that he can recall.
