TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – As snow continued to fall across Central Illinois Friday, some areas were seeing more snow than others.
Scott Williams, with the Tazewell County Highway Department, told WMBD Radio, the main routes there were mostly slushy as of late-morning, and his crews were out salting and plowing, but should have the roads cleared out by late afternoon.
“I just circled the county (Tazewell) in my work truck, and I only saw one car in a ditch,” Williams said.
Peoria County, meanwhile, had a number of accidents reported Friday morning. County officials were advising drivers to take their time getting to where they’re going and to exercise caution.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office issued a Traffic Collision Alert that remains in effect until further notice.
