PEORIA, Ill. – Seven people escaped a fire in Peoria’s East Bluff early Wednesday morning.
Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Hascall says crews arrived just before 2 a.m., finding a home on N. Central Avenue on fire.
Heavy black smoke was seen coming from the front door, but all of the residents were out of the house.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The residents were displaced and are receiving temporary housing from the American Red Cross.
No firefighter injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $30,000.
