PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – A student at Illinois Valley Central High School has been identified as the victim in Tuesday morning’s fatal crash north of Chillicothe.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood IVCHS sophomore Devin Oltman, 16, of Sparland was pronounced dead at OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center at around 8:40 A.M.
Oltman was taken to the hospital after the crash not breathing and without a pulse. Harwood says he suffered multiple blunt-force trauma injuries and likely died instantly.
Harwood says toxicology results are pending, per Illinois State Statute.
The two-vehicle crash occurred on Illinois Route 29 and Hardscrabble Road at around 7:20 A.M. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital.
A portion of Route 29 was closed in both directions after the crash, and was reopened at around 11:15 A.M.

PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – One person has died after a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning north of Chillicothe.
Illinois State Police say the crash involving two vehicles occurred at around 7:20 A.M. in the area of Illinois Route 29 and Hardscrabble Road.
Police say both drivers were taken to an area hospital. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Route 29 was closed in both directions, but reopened at around 11:15 A.M.
