CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Spring will return soon, but the chances of drought in central Illinois will also return.
As of Tuesday morning, the U.S. Drought Monitor reports all of Peoria, Tazewell, Fulton, Marshall, and Stark Counties were experiencing abnormally dry conditions.
Most of Woodford County was also experiencing abnormally dry conditions, apart from a sliver of 6% of land in the eastern part of the county.
In abnormally dry conditions, soil moisture can decline.
Central Illinois experienced abnormally dry to severe drought conditions for most of the summer last year.
