DELAVAN, Ill. – An elderly woman is believed to be dead after a house fire Friday night in rural Tazewell County.
Tazewell County sheriff’s deputies tell 25 News the blaze was reported just after 7:00 p.m. on Locust Road northeast of Delavan.
The house was fully engulfed by the time Delavan and Green Valley firefighters arrived.
It’s believed the woman was the only person inside the home, but it’s not clear how many pets might have been there.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage, are not known. The Illinois State Fire Marshal is believed to be investigating.
