TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – The Tazewell County Coroner says a man from Danvers was the victim in Tuesday afternoon’s fatal crash on Townline Road, south of Tremont.
Charles Hanley says Charles Jackson, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, just after 4:00 P.M.
The crash occurred on the Townline Road off ramp of Interstate 155 just before 3:00 P.M.
Hanley says Jackson was the sole person in a vehicle that was traveling northbound on I-155. He says Jackson then took the Townline Road exit and crashed into a westbound semi-truck that was hauling a trailer.
Hanley says an autopsy on Jackson is scheduled for Friday morning.
The case remains under investigation by Illinois State Police, and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Offices.
