WESTCHESTER COUNTY, Ny. – In three days, Former President Trump will be required to secure a $454 million bond in a New York civil fraud case.
Trump has appealed to stay the bond or to secure a lesser bond. The New York State Appeals Court has not yet ruled on the issue, according to Fox News.
If Trump’s legal team can’t produce the bond, New York Attorney General Letitia James could move to freeze his bank accounts and seize his property. James has already taken the first necessary step to do that in Westchester County.
Entering a judgment as James did on March 6, is the first step to attempt to recover Trump’s property. Additional steps include putting liens on Trump’s assets or moving to foreclose on properties.
The judgment has already been entered in New York City where Trump’s properties including Trump Tower, 40 Wall Street, his hotel near Central Park, and numerous apartment buildings.
No judgment has been filed in Florida or Illinois in cases against Trump.
