CHICAGO, Ill. – The Mega Millions drought is over. One ticket sold in Illinois matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing to win an estimated $560 million jackpot.
The winner, who bought their ticket online through the Illinois Lottery, has the option of choosing the cash option estimated at $264 million.
Tuesday night’s drawing was the ninth largest jackpot in Mega Millions history.
The last time the Mega Millions jackpot was hit was on March 26, when a player in New Jersey won $1.12 billion, the fifth largest Mega Millions ever.
The winning numbers for Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing were 19-37-40-63-69 and the Mega Ball of 17.
