PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria firefighters responded early Tuesday morning to a home on E. Republic, on reports of a garage on fire.
Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Hascall says when they arrived around 4 a.m., crews found the garage filled with smoke and fire showing. It took them about 20 minutes to put the fire out.
A fire investigator determined the fire was accidental.
Firefighters remained on-scene for about an hour putting out hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at about $20,000.
