PEORIA, Ill. – While conducting a traffic stop on SW Jefferson early Monday morning, Peoria Police developed probable cause to search a vehicle.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says around 2:45 a.m., all three people inside the vehicle were detained during the search, two men and a female juvenile.
While searching the driver, identified as 18-year-old JeSean Williams, police found a loaded handgun on him that was reported stolen.
Williams was taken into custody and arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm without a FOID card, and unlawful possession of a handgun.
Williams was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
