PEORIA, Ill. – Average gas prices in Peoria have dropped 6.5 cents a gallon in the last week, averaging $3.57 on Monday, according to GasBuddy.
Prices in Peoria are 10.7 cents lower than a month ago, and just over 15 cents lower than this time last year.
GasBuddy price reports show the cheapest gas in Peoria on Sunday was $3.31 a gallon, while the most expensive gas was $3.85. The lowest gas price in the state on Sunday was $2.99, while the highest priced gas was $5.19.
The national average gas price, according to GasBuddy, was up 1 cent in the last week, averaging $3.41 on Monday.
“Since the national average price of gasoline fell to its lowest June level since 2021 last week, we’ve seen the drop in prices take a break, with some states seeing a small rise over the last week. Thankfully, I expect this to be more like a short timeout, with an eventual return to falling gasoline prices in most states,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
Meanwhile, AAA says the Peoria/Pekin metro area’s average gas price is $3.59 as of Monday, the state’s average price is $3.75, and the national average gas price is $3.44.
