PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria woman has learned her fate after pleading guilty to the stabbing death of her boyfriend last year.
Heaven Kruzan was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday. She could have faced up to 20 years in prison.
She pleaded guilty in May to Second Degree Murder in the death of 34-year-old Lamario Billups, after a First Degree Murder charge was dismissed by prosecutors.
Billups was found with a stab wound to the chest at a home on South Stanley Street in March of last year.
Kruzan had told police that Billups grabbed her by the arm after an argument.
