PEORIA, Ill. – Favorite memories and people from your childhood will be on display this weekend at the Peoria Civic Center.
The annual Peoria Comic and Toy Show from Quad Con will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Center. The show will be open Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
This year’s featured guests include WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and voice actors Jim Cummings and Lizzie Freeman.
Jim Cummings is best known as the voice of Winnie the Pooh and Darkwing Duck, but Quad Con’s John Wells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” that those two roles are only a small part of Cummings’ resume.
“The guy’s got 600 credits, so he’s been a multi-generational voice actor. And if you have any kind of pop culture reference, you’re probably going to know his voice,” Wells said. “You may not know the name, but you’ve definitely known all the things he’s been a part of.”
The show also features around 200 toy and artist vendors selling their wares throughout the weekend. Wells says people can even bring their old comic books and toys to the show, and have buyers appraise their value for a potential sale.
Tickets to the show are $15 for Saturday, $10 for Sunday, and $20 for both days.
