PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Coroner has identified a 31-year-old man killed early Tuesday morning when 20 shots were fired on Peoria’s southside.
Coroner Jamie Harwood says the victim, Quinterius Evans of Peoria, died after being shot near the intersection of W. Garden and S. Griswold.
Harwood says Evans suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body. Evans was not breathing and did not have a pulse when he was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Peoria Police responded to a pair of ShotSpotter alerts around 3:35 a.m. Evans was pronounced dead at the hospital around 4:15 a.m.
