PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say two people were arrested Wednesday night on multiple charges and warrants.
Officers observed a wanted suspect, identified as 26-year-old Kennie Young, just before 9:00 P.M. in a vehicle in front of a residence in the area of North Great Oak.
Police reportedly found a firearm under Young’s seat during the arrest. An additional firearm found next to a 17-year-old male in the backseat who was also in possession of cannabis.
Young was arrested on numerous weapons charges for Wednesday night’s incident. Those charges include Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Possession of Ammunition by a Felon.
He was arrested on Peoria County warrants for Aggravated Battery, Domestic Battery, and Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon. Additional charges against Young from Peoria Police include four counts of Domestic Battery, four counts of Criminal Damage to Property, Interference with Reporting of Domestic Violence, Motor Vehicle Theft, Resisting Police, Burglary to Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespass to Residence, Residential Burglary, Assault, and Home Invasion.
Police say Young was wanted by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office for Domestic Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Endangering the Life and Health of a Child, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, No FOID, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The 17-year-old was arrested on charges of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Possession of a Handgun Under 21.
Young was taken to the Peoria County Jail, and the 17-year-old to the Juvenile Detention Center.
