Longtime Journal Star columnist and WTVP host Phil Luciano will join 1470 & 100.3 WMBD as the host for the 3pm-to-6pm
time slot beginning later in August.
“We are thrilled to have ‘Looch’ join our team,” said Mike Wild, Vice President and General Manager of
Midwest Communications, the group that owns 1470 & 100.3 WMBD and six other radio brands in the
Peoria market. “His extensive history and knowledge of the market makes him a perfect fit as we continue
to expand WMBD Radio’s reflection of our local communities.”
“For more than 30 years, I’ve been sharing intriguing stories and unique
observations about central Illinois,” Luciano said. “I’m looking forward to
doing that — again! — at WMBD Radio.”
There’s also good news for fans of Luciano’s writings. He will eventually be
contributing columns and stories to a revamped wmbdradio.com.
Explaining the goals of new afternoon show, WMBD Radio Brand Manager Caleb Kelch said, “We continue to
expand into the future, not only on-the-air, but in the digital world. Phil adds an amazing dynamic to those
content-generation efforts across multiple platforms. We are ecstatic to have him as a part of the team!”
The new show will be named, “The Phil Luciano Show” and will include WMBD Radio news anchor and
reporter TJ Carson as a regular contributor with Luciano.
