MORTON, Ill. – Morton Police say a “swatting” incident occurred earlier Friday at the Junior High School.
The department says dispatch received a call that a person was approaching the school with a long gun.
Police say a search of the area was conducted, and the Junior High itself, but no threat was located.
Morton Police says it was a swatting incident, where a prank call is made to emergency services to bring a large armed police presence to a particular address.
The Junior High School says it was on a brief lockdown, but has since been lifted.
