EAST PEORIA, Ill. – A car speeding through East Peoria Thursday night crashed into a fast food restaurant.
Police say the driver, 22-year-old Reese Allen, of Canton, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
When officers arrived just after 9:30 p.m., they found Allen’s car had struck the Hardee’s on N. Main Street, and was resting against the building near the drive-thru.
Witnesses at the scene told 25 News the car sped through the intersection of Main and Washington, sideswiping another car, before barreling through the Popeyes parking lot, and rolling over at Hardee’s, crashing into the back of the building.
East Peoria Police developed probable cause to arrest Allen for DUI, reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and illegal transport of alcohol.
