PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria Public Schools bus was involved in a crash Wednesday morning.
Peoria Police says the crash occurred just before 9:45 A.M. in the area of Glen Oak and Fayette between a PPS bus and a passenger vehicle.
Peoria Police says 16 students and two adults were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A Peoria Public Schools spokeswoman says Charter Oak first grade students were on the bus, heading to the Peoria Riverfront Museum for a field trip.
The district says 40 students were on the bus, and those taken to the hospital were done as a precaution.
PPS says the families of all students have been notified.
The crash is under investigation.
