PEORIA, Ill. – The road construction season in the Peoria area continues with more projects beginning Monday.
The intersection of Pioneer Parkway and Harker Drive in Peoria will be modified to a right-in, right-out configuration. (See above)
This means the shared turn lane on Pioneer Parkway at the intersection will be closed and no left turns onto Harker Drive will be allowed, only right turns.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says traffic on the Cedar Street Bridge will be shifted from the current two-way configuration on the westbound lanes to the same two-way configuration on the eastbound lanes.
That is necessary as part of the ongoing overhaul of the bridge. Most of the work on this part of the Cedar Street Bridge project is expected to be completed in late fall, with minor work extending into 2025.
The intersection of Arcadia and Wisconsin Avenues in Peoria will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7 a.m. Monday until Thanksgiving. The closure is necessary for storm sewer installation and pavement reconstruction.
Access to the Wisconsin Plaza Shopping Center will be maintained by using Archer Avenue from the east and Arcadia Avenue from the west.
Also beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, the southbound lane of Ronald Road will be closed at Stafford Court. The lane closure is necessary for drainage improvement work and is scheduled to last six weeks, weather permitting.
