PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police responded to numerous violent incidents from the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Police are looking for a female suspect in an aggravated incident from Saturday morning. Officers responded to the area of Green and Adams Streets just after 9:00 A.M. on reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, they found a 57-year-old adult male with a head injury, who told police he was struck in the head by an unknown female. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police searched the area but could not find the suspect.
On Sunday, a 48-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with stab wounds after a reported armed robbery.
Peoria Police found the victim after responding to the area of Adams and Sloan just after 10:30 A.M.
Police say the suspect, who was not found by officers, reportedly took the victim’s wallet and fled on foot.
The 48-year-old man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Peoria Police say two male suspects got away after a reported vehicular hijacking early Monday morning in downtown Peoria.
Officers responded to the female owner of a vehicle just before 12:15 A.M. in the area of Hamilton and Perry.
She told police two males approached her, one reportedly with a handgun, while she was sitting in her car. The two males took the vehicle and drove away.
The female was not injured.
Peoria Police says the vehicle was found a short time later in the area of Sand and John H Gwynn Jr. Avenue.
Officers observed the two males exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot, with officers unsuccessfully pursuing them.
