PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – The suspect allegedly involved in a child abduction and vehicle theft from Wednesday has been identified by the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
The office says 45-year-old Victor Farris of Ohio dropped his ID during a foot chase on the Rock Island Trail, and was linked to the case.
The sheriff’s office says he has an extensive violent history across numerous states, and is considered very dangerous.
Police say a manhunt for Farris is continuing in the area of southeast Princeville.
Farris is accused of stealing a vehicle Wednesday morning in the area of Pioneer Parkway and University in Peoria.
A three-year-old child was inside the vehicle when it was taken, but the child was found later in the morning safe at a gas station on Airport Road.

PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – Peoria County deputies are continuing the search for a suspect in a child abduction and vehicle theft from Wednesday.
Sheriff Chris Watkins says the suspect was last seen on foot southwest of Princeville in the area of Lakeshore Drive, Slane Road, and Akron Road.
He is described as a white man wearing a blue polo and black pants.
Sheriff’s deputies are encouraging the public to stay clear of the area and call 911 if they spot anyone matching the description.
