PEORIA, Ill. – Fifth District City Councilman Denis Cyr is announcing he’ll seek another term in the 2025 municipal elections in Peoria.
In a statement, Cyr says, “The Fifth District continues to be the economic driver in Peoria and needs a strong and experienced voice at the table during a time of historic investment and opportunity.”
Cyr says he’s provided that type of leadership during his two terms on the Horseshoe, and will continue to do so.
Cyr references nearly $700 million of public and private investments taking place in the City of Peoria that he describes as a “game changer” that can “fundamentally reshape Peoria’s future.”
Cyr also points to his more than 25 years’ experience as a financial advisor and planner and a general manager of the Peoria Rivermen as assets being put to good use on behalf of taxpayers.
Cyr was first elected to Peoria’s City Council in 2017. He says it’s been an honor to serve the people of the Fifth District, and that he looks forward to another campaign for reelection, discussing his priorities and Peoria’s future.
