PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say a man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly being in possession of a stolen weapon.
Officers responded just after 10:30 A.M. near the Lexington Hills Apartments on reports of trouble with a male that was allegedly armed with a handgun.
When officers arrived, 33-year-old Darris Miller reportedly fled into a residence, but came out at the request of police and was taken into custody.
Police allegedly found a loaded firearm that was reportedly stolen during a search of the residence.
Miller was arrested on charges of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Domestic Battery, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Endangering the Life of Health of a Child.
Miller was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
