PEORIA Ill. -Fans had the chance to see the Braves men’s and women’s basketball teams in action this weekend.
Saturday was the annual “Bradley Red/White Scrimmage” — the first time locals have the chance to check out the team for the upcoming Braves season.
Men’s coach, Brian Wardle, told us it’s one of his favorite parts of the preseason…
“It’s the first time our guys play in front of fans, with referees, I mean we do some long scrimmages, but there aren’t a lot of subbing’s — we went about 90 minutes before we scrimmaged, so it’s a great test to how our cardio is and how you have to do to fight through fatigue,” Brian Wardle said.
Former Braves forward, Theron Wilson, was in attendance and shared his thoughts on the team’s high expectations heading into the season.
“I hope they continue that. I know there will be some ups and downs throughout the season, I hope they get through more of the downs and stay on the ups — but I am eager. It looks like they’ve got some good size. I’m just as excited as they are,” Theron Wilson said.
The Braves kick of their season right here on WMBD Radio — October 30th, vs Milikin University.
