Chimney catches on fire at Peoria South Side house

PEORIA, Ill. – No injuries were reported after a chimney fire Monday afternoon in Peoria.

Peoria Fire says reports came in just after 3:15 P.M. in the area of Greenlawn and Antoinette.

Crews arrived to find a fire in the flue of the chimney of the two-story house, and quickly put it out.

Peoria Fire says a faulty wood burner was the cause of the fire.

There was no damage to the house, and the fire was contained to the flue and wood burner.
