PEORIA Ill. – Additional details have been released regarding an arrest made Wednesday morning in Peoria.
23-year-old, Tyrese Walker, has been charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding from police — following his interaction with PPD just after 10am.
Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of West Fallen Oak Lane, on a report of a man asleep in a vehicle with a firearm next to him.
Once officers arrived, they found asleep in his vehicle, and attempted to wake him up.
When he awoke, Walker allegedly started the vehicle — sped off — and struck a parked car nearby.
Walker allegedly reached speeds greater than 100 miles per hour on heavily populated city streets.
No one was injured… but Walker quickly exited and tried to escape on foot.
After a brief chase, Walker was taken into custody — and has since been transported to the Peoria County Jail.
