PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Police Department wants the public to know that counterfeit $100 bills are circulating through Peoria area businesses.
Over the last few weeks, officers have taken numerous reports of counterfeit bills.
PPD says while some fake bills are nearly undetectable at first glance, others feel different than legitimate bills or lack the appropriate markings.
Counterfeit Detector Pens are an easy way to protect your business from counterfeit bills. You can use them to simply swipe the bill with the pen, giving you an immediate indication whether the bill is fake or not.
The pens are available at most office supply and big box stores.
