PEORIA Ill. – A man has been arrested after a vehicle chase with local law enforcement, this morning (Friday).
20-year-old Elijah Sack, of Iowa, was taken into custody on numerous charges of theft and eluding police.
Just before 7:45am, Peoria County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a stolen vehicle being pursued in Peoria County — by Fulton County Sheriff Deputies and officers with the Farmington Police Department.
Short time later, Peoria County deputies located the vehicle abandoned in the 2800 block of North Taylor Road, just east of Hanna City.
It was then, when they heard the suspect had just stolen another vehicle — threatening the owner of the car with a knife.
Deputies then located Sack in the area in the stolen vehicle — and he again fled when a traffic stop was initiated.
Eventually, Sack fled into Woodford county — before stopping and fleeing on foot — in the area of 200 County Road, outside Goodfield.
Sack was taken into custody after a brief chase and swim through a small pond.
He is being held at the Woodford County jail.
