PEORIA Ill. – Thursday is Halloween and the Peoria Police department is handing out some tips to keep your “trick or treaters” safe.
Officers tell us it’s important to never let your children trick-or-treat alone — especially once daylight hours are over.
Kids should also use sidewalks and crosswalks to get from house-to-house, never using the street.
Any adult walking with a group of trick-or-treaters should carry a flashlight — and might want to think about adding a piece of reflective tape to their costumes.
And one final reminder: children should never eat Halloween candy — until it has been examined by an adult.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to the Peoria Police Department at 309-673-4521.
