PEORIA Ill. – Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias’ office is partnering with the Peoria International Airport Thursday — to help locals “Get real or Get Grounded”.
Starting next May, the Department of Homeland Security will require airline passengers to present a REAL ID to board a domestic flight — so the Secretary of State’s office and PIA are hosting a “pop-up” enrollment event.
Folks can go to the airport tomorrow, between 10am and 2pm — to get the ball rolling on their REAL ID enrollment.
If you plan on attending — it’s recommended that you pre-register by calling the Secretary of State’s office.
Their number is (217) 782-8895.
A list of required documents has also been released:
- Either a U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, Naturalization Certificate, Report of Birth Abroad or a Certificate of Citizenship.
- Proof of a full Social Security number (SSN)
- Two current residency documents that list your full name
- Proof of your signature.
